If you are like many I know (and love), you're probably overwhelmed with taking care of (your) business...you know, working to put food on the table, getting kids to school, going to school yourself, taking care of your elderly parents/grandparents, and giving (all) your money to "bill".
You also don't have time to watch the news, keep in touch with your legislators, governor, and other leaders, and anyone else making decisions for you. Here's the thing...in order to introduce change, we need to be informed and one way to do this is to ask questions. Hear a rumor about rate increases (power, water, phone, taxes, etc.), furloughs, across the board raises (I wish), and anything else that may frustrate or excite you? Take a few minutes to check the news, call your senator, governor, or whomever is heading the organization/action.
Ask questions. Going directly to the source is one way. Checking the news is a start, but don't make it a habit to take what the media says as "truth". Everyone speaks and believes based on their own perspective, even the media. Ask questions and share your concerns. You may not get what you want, but you can start the actions we need to move up and out. Ask questions.
